And in the blink of an eye, he is ten weeks old.
Any new parent will tell you the same thing – that they cannot believe how quickly the days and weeks roll by. It is a strange feeling bringing this tiny little person home for the first time, all the while feeling like they have always been part of your life.
Looking back, it has been a challenging and eye opening journey into parenthood. Those early days are tough. But through the fog there are glimpses of light and love. Enough to keep you going. You take each minute/day/week as it comes and slowly you start to rise above the enormous weight of becoming a new parent.
There are rocky times. The times you don’t think you’ll make it. In the dark cold hours of the morning when you feel all alone and wonder how you will get up and do it all over again tomorrow. But you do. And the sun rises on another day, making you stronger.
With each day that passes you gain more love, connection and laughter. That darkness starts to lift, and moments you can treasure forever take its place. Those tiny little hands reaching out for you, that cheeky grin and glint in his eye as he laughs out loud at your silly faces, and those quiet, still moments together. These are the moments you never want to forget.
You want to slow down time to relish in those moments as a new family. Breathe in that newborn smell a little longer, closely study all the tiny details of their face, gently touch those tiny fingers and toes, tickle their belly a bit harder so they scream out in laughter and squeeze a little bit tighter with each and every hug.
Because you know when you wake up tomorrow they will be just that little bit older, those fingers and toes just that little bit bigger, and slowly over time that newborn smell will begin to fade. So amongst the madness, always stop. Relish those moments. Because they won’t be here forever.
Henry, it has been a wild and crazy ride these last 10 weeks but we are so lucky to have you in our lives. We cannot wait to share so many more moments with you.

Samantha and Ryan chose The Residences Centennial Park in Sydney for their wedding day back in March. Unfortunately the weather had been a little unpredictable, with quite significant rainfall in the days leading up to the big event. Even the morning of the wedding it was very wet with many showers falling throughout the area. We were prepared for the worst but the sun gods were thankfully on our side, as the skies cleared just in time for the ceremony! Samantha was most pleased, as she wanted to showcase her amazing wedding gown from Ziolkowski Bridal with glistening gold sequins, isn’t it stunning?
Both Ryan and Samantha were an incredible couple to work with, so relaxed and happy to be sharing their most special day with close family and friends. One of the benefits of the venue is the ability to DIY a lot of the day, which is exactly what they did! Guests were treated to amazing pizzas for dinner, and with the happy couple having a huge affection for beer there was plenty of it on offer – even right down to some styling elements on the tables!

I had the pleasure of working with the gorgeous dietician and nutritionist Lyndi Cohen to update her website images and media portfolio during February this year. This also coincided with the launch of a new program she is running called Keep it Real which kicks off on May 16th. The program is a 10-week step-by-step program and community that is personalised to you to help end the weight struggle, emotional eating and anxiety.
Lyndi is always such a pleasure to work with, and I love the fact she comes to our sessions with clear ideas in her mind of her brand and what she wants to achieve for her images. This certainly makes my job easier, and working together is always such a collaborative experience. We chose the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney to photograph her session which allowed for many varying locations and beautiful backdrops!
Lyndi is a regular media nutritionist dietitian on Channel 9’s TODAY and TODAY Extra shows, a Nutrition consultant currently consulting to some amazing organisations and proud to be Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Ambassador as well as a trained nutrition speaker and presenter.
If you are interested in learning more about Lyndi’s new program, make sure you check out Keep It Real – A transformative guide to help you end emotional eating, combat anxiety and stop struggling with your weight.
“No ‘body’ is perfect. That is why I have a strict NO PHOTOSHOP policy. In order to be real, honest and ‘stripped bare’, no images of me are photoshopped – and they never will be!”
The BOX on the Water is situated in prime position on the newly redeveloped foreshore in Ettalong Beach. Its absolute waterfront location has panoramic views out across Broken Bay to its namesake, Box Head, and over to Sydney’s northern beaches. Architecturally designed with a stylish, contemporary aesthetic, The BOX is just an hour and a half’s drive from central Sydney or twenty five minutes on the passenger ferry from Palm Beach. We took the leisurely ferry ride from Palm Beach which takes 30mins, and is the perfect scenic way to arrive.
Luckily I had made a reservation as this place fills up quickly! Not surprising given it’s location. The restaurant was filled with lots of families and big groups enjoying the gorgeous weather and delicious food. As my Mum and I both share February birthdays, we decided to meet her to enjoy a beautiful birthday lunch. What a way to celebrate!

You could easily assume when leaving this restaurant you have just eaten an exceptional meal at one of Sydney or Melbourne’s top restaurants. But instead as you walk on to the quiet street in Brunswick Heads you are quickly reminded exactly where you are.
The quality of food, wine and service at Fleet will certainly rival any big city restaurant and people are talking. It’s rare to experience this level even in a capital city let alone in a small New South Wales town on the North Coast. From the minute you walk in you instantly know that this is going to be an incredible experience. The open plan style and and limited seating (they only seat 14 people in a sitting) make for a very intimate and personalised experience.
Fleet’s focus is on small, sustainable and mindfully produced wines with a mix of predominately Australian producers and a smaller variety of international winemakers. They also offer a diverse range of cocktails, beers and house made sodas.
The ever-changing menu is made up of a series of smaller dishes, each with a focus on a few primary ingredients. As a guest you have the option to pick and choose from the items listed. Alternatively they offer a relaxed, shared based degustation style menu. The price is $75 per head and consists of eight different dishes. How you wish to dine can be decided on the day. We opted for the shared based degustation style menu and were impressed with the quality and variety of dishes.
Fleet offer a late lunch sitting at 3PM / 3:30PM. Dinner reservations begin from 6:30PM. The menu and experience are the same for lunch and dinner. Late lunch (3pm) and early dinner (5pm) reservations are allocated 3.5 hours to dine with later dinner reservations having no time constraints. Dining is communal, with guests seated side by side. You will get to know your neighbour! With ten seats around a low concrete bar and views to the kitchen, there is also an additional 4 seats at a higher bar located in our front window with views to the street. We were lucky enough to be placed at the concrete bar with views of the kitchen so we could watch the chef creating all the magic on our plates.
Fleet is one of the most incredible dining experiences I have had in Australia. Each dish was unlike any other, and the staff made you feel like you were almost in their home enjoying a night with friends. I cannot recommend Fleet enough so if you have a chance to visit be sure to book early. Presently dinner is booked out approximately four to six weeks in advance. This gives you an indication just how special this restaurant is.
