Maternity sessions are some of my favourite to photograph. There is just so much love and anticipation in the air and it really comes through the lens and in to the final images. Not only is it a great way to spend some beautiful quality time together before the baby arrives, but it is a wonderful memento to look back on and share with the new addition. 

Brionne contacted me about booking in a maternity session and as she is originally from America she wanted to have it around some beautiful Sydney bushland and harbour views, as Brionne and Phil spent a lot of time here as a couple. It is a place with meaning to them, and now to their bub as well! Choosing a location close to your heart can make your photos even more special.

I had the pleasure of capturing Madeline and Andreas in Sydney’s Botanic Gardens before they welcomed their first child in to the world – which can you believe ended up happening the very next day after our maternity session! When they were expecting their second child, they really wanted to capture this moment again in the very same location with little Mia in tow!

The couple originally chose the Botanic Gardens for their maternity photography location as Andreas is from Greece and wanted to be able to share the photographs with family back home and to showcase all that Sydney and Australia has to offer.

One of the best parts of photographing in this location are the many options to work with. Beautiful lush backdrops of greenery, city skylines and the magnificent harbour all provide unique and lovely scenes making the photography session quite varied and interesting. We spent a few hours just casually walking around the gardens, exploring with Mia, chatting about the new member of the family about to arrive and enjoying all that the location had to offer.

 They will always look back on these photographs with fond memories and baby Nicholas will be forever loved by his big sister Mia!
