Kidspot Voices of 2014 Masterclass

On Saturday I was very lucky to be invited to Kidspot Voices of 2014 master class held at Megan Morton’s delightful location The School in Rosebery. Many classes of all varieties are held here each and every day, and it’s easy to see why it is such a popular place!

I’m not sure why, but I was quite nervous walking in! I wasn’t too sure what to expect, and I really did feel like the new kid on the first day of school. We could take a seat anywhere we like on the old school desks, so I placed my things down and proceeded to snap away around the room.

The little details were amazing with cute flower arrangements on each desk, coloured cups and jugs of water, notepads and pens – it really was like being at an amazing school (but purely designed for adults!)

It really was an honour to be invited to an event with such amazing talent in one room.

Scanning around I could see so many people I seem to “know” so much about all thanks to their blogs and Instagram. Again, I couldn’t help by feeling like the new kid on the first day of school! It was nice to see the community so strong here in Sydney, with people catching up like they were old friends. I’m hoping that one day I’ll be able to do the same!

It was an action packed line up, with a lot of discussion from Panel 1: Finessing Facebook. I picked up quite a few tips and hints from the best of the best here, so hopefully can begin to implement them over the coming months.

Panel 2: (Over)Sharing on Social Media was certainly a laugh! Kayte Murphy – Woogsworld and Beth Macdonald – BabyMac sure know how to keep a crowd entertained, and shared some wise experiences over their blogging lives so far.

Panel 3: Inspiration is Innovation was just that! Inspiring! These lovely ladies have achieved so much from writing and creating cookbooks, to online magazines to crowd funding their own printed magazine, hearing them you couldn’t help but feel empowered!

The afternoon flew by, and before I knew it school was out! There was a lot to absorb in such a short space of time, but thankfully I took a lot of notes so fingers crossed I can start to put some new things in place over the next few months.

While sharing my desk space I also met some lovely ladies! The gorgeous Kate from Taylor+Cloth, Erika from Erika Rax and Basmah from Laccee and Lattes. Hopefully we will cross paths again one day soon.

A big congratulations to all the finalists in the Kidspot Top 100 Voices of 2014, it is all very well deserved! There certainly is some amazing talent here in the Australian blogging community, and I’m so glad I got to share it in all for a day.
