On a coolish Spring day I had the pleasure of capturing Madeline and Andreas in Sydney’s Botanic Gardens before they welcomed their first child in to the world – which can you believe ended up happening the very next day after our maternity session!
The couple chose the Botanic Gardens for their maternity photography location as Andreas is from Greece and wanted to be able to share the photographs with family back home and to showcase all that Sydney and Australia has to offer.
One of the best parts of photographing in this location are the many options to work with. Beautiful lush backdrops of greenery, city skylines and the magnificent harbour all provide unique and lovely scenes making the photography session quite varied and interesting. We spent a few hours just casually walking around the gardens, chatting about the new member of the family about to arrive and enjoying all that the location had to offer. As it was a slightly overcast and cool day, we were quite lucky to have a lot of the place to ourselves making for an easier session! Nothing worse than battling through crowds of people to get those beautiful photos.
Andreas and Madeline welcomed little baby Mia to the world the next day, so I feel very lucky to have shared that special time with them before she arrived. They will always look back on these photographs with fond memories now!

Just before Christmas the gorgeous little Evie celebrated her first birthday party with family and friends in Avalon on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. She certainly was the life of the party and relished in having so many people there to sing, dance and shower her with lots of love and attention. She even managed to keep her flower crown on the WHOLE event!
Evie’s Mum Kathryn hired out the Avalon Annexe, with lots of yummy food for the guests, a beautiful birthday cake for the birthday girl and even a fairy to keep all the children entertained. It was a beautiful event and all of the kids had a great time getting their faces painted, singing and dancing and playing lots of games. They certainly would have all slept well that night!

There is something so special about photographing memorable events like these. Family events are a wonderful time to capture the love and happiness that is shared by all and to create lifelong memories that can be looked back upon for years to come. I hope that little Evie will be able to see these photographs once she is older and her parents can tell her all about her special day and what fun everyone had!

A beautiful mother to be, a gorgeous flower crown, happy friends and family were the secret to a successful baby shower hosted last week for Lauren!
A friend of Lauren kindly offered her stunning home in Lilyfield, while her sister in law and step mother made all the arrangements for the special day. It was a picture perfect event for the little bub and she was well and truly spoilt with love and gifts!

Guests were treated to some amazing dishes including slow cooked lamb, fresh made salads, roast chicken and roast vegetables. There were pink cocktails and bubbles on offer, cheese platers and lots of fun games for everyone to enjoy.
A particular favourite was not so much a game, but a chance for everyone to write some advice on a milestone in the new babies life. One for the mother Lauren, and the other for the beautiful baby girl. I just know that she will look back on those fondly for the rest of her life. Such a special and beautiful idea.

Emma was in charge of the magical red velvet cake, which was a centrepiece for the special day. Now that’s some impressive baking skills! She was also responsible for the flower arrangement on top, what a talented lady! The ladies all devoured the cake, while Lauren prepared to open her mountains of gifts for the little bub!

It was a truly beautiful day, one that Lauren was clearly so blown away by all the generosity and support as she starts the new chapter in her life. The little baby girl will be much loved!

Niall celebrated his first birthday party surrounded by family and friends in the local park at Breakfast Point in the gorgeous sunshine! There were bubbles, gifts, cakes and so many other kids to play with!
Parents got to enjoy the delicious pizzas straight from the mobile pizza oven and there were lots of treats for the kids including amazing goodie bags to take home! It’s fair to say that the kids would have slept well that night after a day of laughter, running around and yummy food!

I had the pleasure of capturing the pure love between Kamina and Warren one sunny afternoon in Darling Point. Unable to contain their happiness throughout the entire session, they couldn’t wipe the smiles from their faces!
They’re about to embark on a new journey by moving to London, I wish them all the success they deserve! What a couple! Thank you Kamina and Warren for letting me have a small glimpse in to how happy your lives will be, and giving me the chance to photograph your special time together!
