Weekend Wanderings… | A Personal Post
Saturday night was a very special occasion! We all headed to a beautiful venue in Glebe to celebrate the recent engagement of my best friend Lauren to the wonderful man of the moment Todd!
There certainly was a LOT of love in the air that night, as well as quite a few sugar hits too. They had a beautifully stocked lolly bar, and some beautiful handmade delights in the way of red velvet cupcakes and a larger cake (made by the bride to be’s friend Emma) for all the guests to enjoy. It certainly was difficult for the speeches to be over before we could all tuck in to those delicious cupcakes! I could see people eyeing them off all evening!
They chose a red and white theme, which suited the venue perfectly. The exposed brick walls with string fairy lights and rustic feeling really created such a beautiful and romantic evening. This was also the second engagement party the couple had, as they opted to split them in to two events. One for family and the other for friends which I think was a wonderful idea!
It was so beautiful to see the happy couple so in love for the big occasion and it certainly rubbed off on many of the guests during the night. Thank you for letting us share in your special evening Lauren and Todd, it was magical!
Sunday, we woke to bright blue skies but a definite chill in the air, so we jumped in the car and headed down the coast for one of our favourite day trips. There weren’t too many people around as we left home just after 9am, so the traffic wasn’t too crazy – perfect for a Sunday drive.
We took our usual route through the Royal National Park and down through Stanwell Tops towards Wollongong, stopping at Bald Head lookout to take in the amazing views over the Pacific Ocean.
Driving down towards Wollongong, we grabbed ourselves a takeaway coffee, and sat down on the beach watching the waves roll in. It was lovely to sit in the sunshine, relax and breathe in the salty winter air on a lazy Sunday morning. Next stop, we jumped back in the car and made our way to the Southern Highlands for some lunch and scones in Berrima where it was a very crisp 7 degrees!
