Weekend Wanderings…

PBB-One-Click-WOW

As things ramp up at work, I am finding more and more solace in my weekends. Friday night, I sadly didn’t leave the office until after 10pm (and that was after arriving at 6:45am!) so I was very happy to see the weekend being filled with many fabulous birthday celebrations!

On Saturday afternoon, (after spending the morning in the office) we celebrated with our friend Ben, who has just returned from a fabulous overseas trip which saw him jet set around Europe and America. Needless to say, his stories have certainly left us all a little bit jealous.

IMG_3607 IMG_3625 IMG_3622 IMG_3617We spent the afternoon relaxing over a BBQ with some delicious salads and beautiful meat, while sipping on some birthday bubbles! Saturday afternoons don’t really get much better than that. Especially after working that morning!

Summer in Australia is perfect for outdoor dining, and I love that everyone always tries to take advantage of it while they can. One thing I really did want to do more of this summer was picnic, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet! Let’s hope there are still a few nice weekends left before the colder weather makes an appearance.

Lauren did an amazing job making and styling the cake! I loved it so much, and it was VERY tasty. Hamish had a fabulous time running around with all of his playgroup friends (and a few of his ‘adult’ friends too!)

This weekend coming is a long weekend for Australia Day, which is most exciting!
I am looking forward to an action packed 3 days, and hopefully a little rest in there at some stage too. Waking at 3am for work each morning now, really does leave me a bit exhausted but I hate the thought of giving up on social events so I am going to make the most of every event I have on this weekend, including a date night with the husband on Friday as I never see him anymore!
Did you have a nice weekend?
Are you doing anything special to celebrate the Australia Day long weekend?

  1. That cake is awesome! Aus Day weekend is one of the best, we had a busy family one thanks to a wedding. And lol, we purchased two Moet bottles too!
