Flower Markets, Sydney

A few weeks ago, after much planning some friends and I woke up super early on a Saturday morning to make a trip to the Sydney Flower Markets at Flemington.

This wasn’t my first trip here, but it was for the girls. The look on their faces when we arrived was priceless! Like kids in a candy store! It was a fun morning, but in the end it did leave me thinking I shouldn’t quit my day job and suddenly become a florist, as I have no idea how to pull a bunch together!

We literally piled the boot, as well as the backseat of the car with fresh blooms, and headed back to my house for a morning of flower arranging, tea and cookies!

The girls came prepared with vases, brown paper to make bouquets and we had a great time arranging and generally making a bit of a mess in my courtyard!

It has been so delightful having fresh flower arrangements in every corner of the house! They have lasted so well, and I am very much looking forward to our next early morning trip out to the flower markets!

Have you ever made a visit to your local flower market, or do you prefer to buy them from a supermarket or local florist?
